Burlington: It’s a matter of detail
Here’s another one (NSFW):
I don’t know if these ads are real.
On 21 November 2013 I wrote I wouldn’t be surprised if the slavers were desis.
From the Telegraph article: “The alleged captors, a man and a woman both aged 67, were said by police to be an Indian and a Tanzanian who came to Britain in the Sixties”
I’m assuming that the “Tanzanian” is also of Indian descent.
Who has the least privilege?
Gawker: The Privilege Tournament
“This is the privilege bracket. It is like an NCAA bracket, but without the privileged assumption that you know about sports, which are an inherently masculine-dominated, ability-privileged activity.”
I did not realize the diversity of under-privileged people! Among sexual minorities, who are the plushies? What is a hijra in the gender department? I am familiar with all the racial minorities, and I did not realize the alcoholics/addicts are an underprivileged group. Of course, this is only satire.
The tournament is funny, my type of humor.
Salon says the tournament is all about white anger.
Telegraph: The foreign beggars that Britain cannot stop
The government paid the fares and sent 20 gypsies (now called Roma) back to Romania in July. Six of them have returned to London. Perhaps the rest of them will return soon.
The gypsies are nomads. They will find a way back. Expelling them is useless.
Huffington Post: Barilla Pasta Won’t Feature Gay Families In Ads, Says Critics ‘Can Eat Another Brand Of Pasta’
Chicago Tribune: Anti-gay remark hurts pasta maker
Ridiculous. It is only pasta. The CEO’s opinion on homosexual families is completely irrelevant to the product.
The penalty for entering a child under the age of sixteen in a beauty contest is two years in prison and a large fine. Perhaps all junior beauty pageants can be reclassified as talent shows, but everyone would know that the prettiest girl will win.
The French have changed quite a bit in two years.
Business Insider (August 2011): Now the French Are Making Sexy Lingerie for Kids
In yesterday’s Lunch Break Musings, I wrote about nude public hiking being legal in France. I agree with that, because nudity is not offensive. Sweden has now raised the bar in terms of what is acceptable in public.
The Local – Sweden: Public masturbation not a crime: Swedish court
“The Södertörn District Court has now acquitted the 65-year old in a judgement which stated that it “may be proven that the man exposed himself and masturbated on this occasion”.
However, the court added that no offence had been committed as the masturbating man was not pleasuring himself towards a specific person.”
“When asked if it was now acceptable to masturbate in public if you don’t direct it towards a specific individual the prosecutor said it was ‘okay.'”
In other words, one can publicly masturbate in a general direction.
Telegraph: Transgender man gives birth in Germany
“Although the father has been taking hormone replacement therapies for years he elected to retain the reproductive organs of a woman.”
“Because he physically gave birth to the child the unidentified man is seen as the mother, however by law he is recognised as a man.”
Remember the 1990 film Kindergarten Cop? Here is some transphobic bigotry from that era:
The movie clip above reminded me of something else. CBS reports that Chicago Public Schools will Mandate Sexual, Health Education for Kindergarten. In addition to teaching children the correct names for body parts, which they already know, the curriculum will include “…different family structures that exist in today’s society.”
Two daddies, two mommies, female daddy, male mommy, two male mommies, etc. Under the new rules, the boy in the clip above would have been corrected for confusing anatomy with identity.
A few years ago I would have been disgusted by these new interpretations of sex and family structure. Now, I decided I don’t care. I am a sexual libertarian. Everyone can do whatever they want, and the government should let a man be listed as mother.
Transgenderism is the hip new trend; everyone is doing it. Cisgenderism is so yesterday.
“…seven percent of Muslim girls don’t attend co-ed swimming lessons, and roughly half of their families give religious reasons for this absenteeism.”
The seven percent should be forced to attend co-ed swimming lessons, or get a failing grade. Little “Aisha” said she is offended by the sight of bare chested boys in swimming shorts, and thinks the full-body burquini is ugly. Her family is worried that wearing the burquini will lead to ridicule and isolation, making integration more difficult.
The family is wrong. Refusing to participate in normal German activities makes integration difficult. If the family is so sensitive and offended by German practices, they should return to Morocco.
